Here's my main tool of choice, and the best kicker is: It's completely free. You don't even have to sign up! there's an nagging popup (and a second one) after you open it, but you can close them and it won't bug you again until you close it and reopen it (that means you can keep working then close it when you're done).

The interface can be a little weird- and at times, very unintuitive - for people who aren't used to it, but you can move around things. It's very easy to remap controls too, and there's an universal stabilizer! It may be a little absent of brushes for a bit, but if you sign up you can access the icloud of brushes they have, that they work on developing.

  • Completely free.
  • Paint bucket tool is one of the best I've seen; it's very easy to tell it how far to fill, to get these pesky white seams (and it also closes gaps for you!).
  • Assortment of line, comic frame, and text tools are nice.
  • Brush management is pretty easy!
  • It's updated a lot, frequently - at the time this was written, it's updating at about once a month at least.
  • Antialiasing is very easy to turn on and off at will.
  • Universal stabilizer!
  • Reference image panel, which is always a bonus
  • All of the interface can be confusing, and there's not much documentation.
  • Sometimes it's hard to figure out how to do an simple thing (Ask my friend who had to ask where the paint bucket tool was).
  • You can't export or import brushes; you have to make brushes from "scratch," putting in png images and telling it to behave how you want it to.
  • Some things are hidden weirdly in menus where they shouldn't be.
  • Hard to understand how to use frame tools at first.
